    1. Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show In 1999 Stefano de Pieri and Bruce Chalmers along with Dr. Rod Bonfiglioli, initiated the Sangiovese Awards and continued with the Australian Italian Wine Show in 2000. Following the success of these shows the first Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show was held in Mildura in November 2001.
    2. Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show Come to Mildura the week of the Melbourne Cup and open your senses to a new world of wine. With over 600 entries, tastings and talks the Show’s winners are announced by Stefano de Pieri and Chief Judge Max Allen at the AAVWS Awards Long Lunch on Saturday. Catch the Mildura Jazz, Food and Wine Festival the weekend before.

    1. Mildura Jazz Food and Wine Festival The Mildura Jazz, Food and Wine Festival is a well established event that attracts many locals and visitors to the Mildura district. The Festival takes place as an annual Spring-time event, presenting four days of round the clock jazz entertainment in popular clubs, bars and cafes, restaurants, churches, as well as street side and riverside venues – with feature events utilising unique Murray River settings and all events showcasing regional food and wine.
    2. Mildura Jazz, Food & Wine Festival The Mildura Jazz, Food and Wine Festival is a well established event that has attracted many locals and visitors to the Mildura district over the past twenty nine years. The Festival takes place as an annual Spring-time event, presenting four days of round the clock jazz entertainment in popular clubs, bars and cafes, restaurants, churches, as well as street side and riverside venues - with feature events utilising unique Murray River settings and all events showcasing regional food and wine.
    3. Mildura Wentworth Country Music Festival Mildura Country Music Festival is Australia’s largest Independent Country Music Festival presented by Neighbourhood Cable. When Australian country music fans talk of the festival "biggies", the Mildura Country Music Festival rates a mention alongside the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Gympie Muster as one of the big three.
    4. Mildura Writers Festival The Mildura Writers' Festival brings together some of Australia's best writers in an intimate, winter program of workshops, lectures and discussion forums.
    5. Mildura Writers Festival Held every July the Mildura Writers Festival presents three days of words, food and wine on the Murray River featuring Australian and international writers. The Festival brings together some of Australia’s best writers in an intimate, winter program of workshops, lectures and discussion forums with a largely community based audience.

    1. Mildura Country Music Festival The 24th Annual Mildura Country Music Festival is Australia's biggest showcase of independent country music entertainers. In 2009, more than 100 individual artists and groups entertained 12,000 fans from all across Australia during the ten day festival. The 2010 festival promises to continue country music heaven in spring in Mildura. The venues, 20 in all, spread from the Mildura City Mall, Country on the Darling and Henderson Park providing all day entertainment , Mildura City venues to outlying locations like Wentworth, Coomealla, Irymple, Merbein, Red Cliffs, Buronga and Gol Gol. The diamond in the crown for the past thirteen years has been the live concert and radio presentation of The Southern Stars, The Australian Independent Country Music Awards that recognise the achievements of the independent recording artists during the past year. Entry is free to all venues except the Southern Stars the Australian Independent Country Music Awards and the Top of the State Talent Quest.
    2. Mildura Eisteddfod The Mildura Eisteddfod was initiated in 1979, essentially to encourage and foster the performing arts, particularly in the interests of young people. It is an annual event, a competition in piano, vocal, instrumental, speech and drama, dance and folk. It has grown from a three-day event to a 14 day program.

    1. Mildura Cup Carnival This is the big one for Mildura. The Mildura cup is establishing itself as a country cup well worth winning and one that is attracting top quality horses/trainers and jockeys. This can be seen by the city class gallopers De Mars, Produced and Stanzout filling the placings in an exciting finish to the 2009 Cup.
    2. Mildura Masters Games The 2011 Mildura Masters Games is a 9 day sporting event for male and female participants aged 25 years and over. Visiting and local participants are invited to enjoy competitive sporting events and social activities woven around the camaraderie and friendship that sport engenders.
    3. Mildura Racing Cup Carnival Three nights of Harness Racing in one exciting week at the Mildura Show Grounds. Many social events included in the week. Top horses and drivers from throughout Victoria and interstate. Mildura Pacing Cup $50,000, group two event. Harness racing at its best. Fun for the whole family an event not to be missed.
    4. Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay The Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay is an event organised specifically to fundraise for health related organisations. A team may register to ride the 520 kilometres from the Murray River (either Mildura, Echuca or Swan Hill) to the Moyne River in Port Fairy but must donate any money raised to a health related organisation of their choice.
    5. Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships The Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships is an annual event held in the beautiful rural city of Mildura nestled on the banks of the majestic Murray River, in north west Victoria.
    6. Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships The Mildura Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships is an annual cricket carnival hosted in Mildura between 27- 30 December. Cricket teams including Ladies, from around the country vie for the largest prize money of any carnival of this type in Australia. AUD10,000 prize money is on offer across the three grades of competition. One of the highlights of Willowfest is the renowned 'Willowfest Whack' (as seen on Channel 9's Cricket Show). The competition goes in search of the biggest whacker of a cricket ball in the country. A three person team consisting of batter, tosser and catcher are required to compete in the 'Whack'. Each batter is given three attempts in the preliminary round with the three longest 'Whackers' then squaring off in the final. In addition to four fantastic days of cricket, a host of other sporting and social events make Willowfest a fun week for officials, players and their families. Many teams bring up to 25 persons (plus their families) to ensure they enjoy cricket and a family holiday.
